I saw the news on tv tonight about a report on student council election in local Universities. What caught my eyes is that they grouped the candidates into "Pro Aspirasi" and "Pro Mahasiswa" camp, wtf was that??
After some lazy digging, I found out that Pro Aspirasi is mainly made of candidates who support the ruling party ("the government", mind the quote) and the "Pro Mahasiswa" consist of independent candidates and candidates who are "influenced" by the Opposition.
Wtf has happened in Malaysian Higher Learning Institutions??? This is an election for student representative council man... these candidates are supposed to represent students' best interest! They are not supposed to be pawns for the Ruling/Opposition party.. quit labelling them like that.
The best thing the govt could do is make sure they are free of political meddling, not to make them worse by putting them in two seperate "camps", grow up all.. shittt...
These are Government sponsored universities!!! Its supposed to have class... clean up your mess meh, or these universities are going to fell down the same level as the IRISH INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY!!!
I heard this rumors from a friend who claim to have a friend working in TM. He told me that beginning this year's September, TM is going to impose a 'soft-limit' to Streamyx data usage in a month.
Subscribers that exceed this 'soft-limit' will be forced to pay extra charge base on data usage. The new fee structure is still unknown at this point.
But the most important question is, how does this move will affect the service quality of Streamyx broadband users? Will it be improved?
I highly doubt it.
p/s: Streamyx is synonymous with bad service, just dig around if you don't believe me.
I read the post last nite, concerning the possibility of Malaysian bloggers hosted locally might be asked to register with the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications.
He said the step has to be taken because there were about 50,000 websites registered under the .my suffix and there were a lot of avenues for anyone to host websites with malicious content which could harm the country's security.
However the idea was looked down upon certain people such as Jeff Ooi, Marina Mahathir and Ahirudin Attan as it would make Malaysia look ridiculous in the eyes of the world, and it would encourage Malaysian to host their website overseas.
p/s: I wonder how they are going to monitor all those registered website at once?
